
The adungu is an arched bow harp traditionally played by the Alur people of the West Nile region of Northern Uganda. This recording features an ensemble of five adungu players performing traditional compositions that have been part of Alur cultural life for centuries. The adungu produces a warm, resonant tone and is one of the most recognizable traditional instruments of Uganda.

Wangala songs are performed during the traditional harvest festival of the Langi people of Northern Uganda. These songs celebrate agricultural abundance, thank the ancestors for good rains, and reinforce community bonds through collective music-making. The musical arrangements feature the traditional ajaa harp, the bul drum, and communal singing.

Lakubukubu is a vigorous war dance of the Acholi people of Northern Uganda. Historically performed before and after battles, this dance combines aggressive stamping movements, shield displays, and call-and-response chanting. The dance serves as both a morale booster for warriors and a display of strength and unity for the community.
